Introduction

Hello!
A huge hobby of mine for many years now has been home cooking - of course for my family but even more enjoyable for appreciative friends. To date I have been posting pictures of my efforts on Facebook, but it has recently been suggested to me that I really should start a blog.......so here we go.
My ambition is to provide guidance to others by charting my progress - particularly through the fabulous World of Eastern cuisine - and attempt to highlight failures, top tips and help for you to follow.

Within the site you can find key essentials you must have in your kitchen - both equipment and staple ingredients - plus my sources of inspiration (books and so on), and my current favourite suppliers here in the UK.

Whilst my initial focus will be on Indian and Eastern cuisine, look out for the odd Western item - I'm quite well known for my traditional roasts; seafood dishes and occasional dabbling with quintessential French classics.
I will hopefully also be posting some quite excellent dishes by my Canadian wife - her baby back ribs are becoming quite renowned, as are her chocolate brownies.
And on that subject, my thanks to her as always for being the guinea pig - including eating food which is sometimes far spicier than she would prefer (I have attempted in the recipes to highlight where I have deviated on quantities).

The "cooking with cats" shall remain a title for the moment, although sadly the kittens are now cats and aren't interested anymore in sitting between my feet whilst I cook! Nevertheless, they do still occasionally help out!

Please feel free to suggest improvements of course, amd I hope you enjoy creating and eating the recipes you find here - you might never visit the takeaway again!

All the best....!
